Azula is such a good girl for her nail trims, but as a puppy, she did not like it. Over time I helped her adjust to having her paws held in my hand, messing with her toes, and holding her legs out. Next was accustoming her to the nail clippers and Drummel which she prefers. Treats and praise along with showing her all was fine, she stands and sits until she can get hugs afterwards.
